"Boeren-Leidse ... met sleutels"

A special embossed trade mark is being placed on the cheese by all members of the "Vereniging van Boeren-Leidse Kaasmakers", the society of farmers that produce this cheese.
This trade mark identifies the original Boeren Leidse . All members of the society are obliged to participate in regular inspections, to guarantee the quality of the cheese.

Boeren Leidse can be recognised by it's color and embossed trade mark. The trade mark consists of two crossed keys, which also can be found in the coat of arms of the city of Leiden. The city of Leiden is known as the "Key city".
